I saw Jesse Tyler Ferguson in a gay-themed play Off-Broadway a few years back. Is he gay?

I got a hug from Alvin Ing and Telly Leung after 'Flower Drum' one night. If they weren't gay before, maybe they caught it by hugging me.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

Posted: 6/26/05 at 12:12amCongrats to M. Butterfly's Alec Mapa. He's this years Celebrity Grand Marshall of the San Francisco Parade (much better choice than LA's- Paris Hilton). Alec is out, proud, talented, and absolutely adorable (and, unfortunately for us, partnered)

Thanks for those who got what this thread is about.
It's not about Outing anyone or speculating anyone's sexuality.
It's about thanking and saluting those Comfortable and Secure enough to discuss their Gayness.
In the theatre a person's Image and persona are very important so the courage to come out can be a major factor in a career (not that it is easy for say a Plumber, no pun)
But many young people who aspire to a Theatre profession may be Gay and Role Models are Extremely Important, so I wanted to Honour them on this Gay Pride Weekend, and to the straights who are also supportive
My hat is off to U too!

In 1973 (before Paul in 'Chorus Line', before Molina in 'Spider Woman' and way before Roger in 'Producers') he played David, an openly gay character in 'Seesaw'. He choreographed and performed 'It's Not Where You Start, It's Where You Finish' and a star was born. More than 30 years later I still vividly remember that show, that number, and how gracious (and tall) he was at the stage door. I sat near him at a recent performance of 'Piazza' and at, 66, he still looks as handsome as ever. BTW, the only two performers to win Tony awards in each of 4 different categories are Tommy Tune and Harvey Fierstein, both out and proud and we should be proud of them.

Posted: 6/26/05 at 4:07pmThanks to those of you who've reminded me of a few names I should have added to my list (which happens only to be of openly gay male performers, though my hat is off to the ladies and to the behind the scenes talent that should also be saluted.) As to those who feel that speaking openly about their sexual orientation is a "private" matter: NPH, DHP, MVE, just to give initials of a few of the most obvious examples, I strongly believe that this decision is based on a combination of fear and shame (though they might deny it) which I personally find entirely inappropriate (to avoid a stronger adjective) in 2005, when we as a community are fighting harder than ever for the right to be treated equally. Their silence hurts us all.
