Actually, they did it at Stagedoor Manor this summer through a partnership with MTI, and it was wonderful.
Me and my friends were discussing Avenue Q on the bus to theatre fest. Trying to convince Mrs. Waldron into doing it next year when the rights are hoefully out. I don't care how bad it may seem now, but it CAN'T be all that bad.

How many school kids are puppeteers? As a professional puppeteer, I can tell you, not many BUT I have been involved with 5 high school productions of CARNIVAL in wich the puppets are as vital to the show as they are in AVE Q. I made the puppets for CARNIVAL and trained the kids manipulating them. If the schools get a local puppeteer to work with the kids, it could work out. Don't condemn the idea if you have no experience with it.
