It wasn't that I didn't believe you that folks don't get sued. It was that I didn't believe you that they had worked anything out with the original director. It seems that he would agree.

I know this post is about a month after you posted that, but it made me think about original cast recordings, and how people performing in a production of some show will listen to the cast recording and in some cases, literally imitate the performer on the recording, the nuances of their voice, the delivery, vocal riffs, etc.

So, just playing devil's advocate, I was wondering if you think that down the road performers will eventually sue other performers because "They came up with that riff first," that is not written in the liscensed score? Just me thinking out loud, I'm not neccessarily for one side or the other right now, I just wondered what others thought..
