I miss the days when I had room on one wall to put my windowcards from all the shows I'd seen, in the order I'd seen them. I'd need the Great Wall of China to do that now.
Ah well I hang what I can.

Wow! How much did you pay for your Follies poster, or did you get it when it originally opened?
I'm not posting any pictures, but I have four framed posters up-three out of four are autographed (Sweeney Todd, Grey Gardens and Night Music) one isn't (Chicago from 1975) and I have a framed Follies album cover hanging up as well, as I never have found or won (on eBay) an original poster. Damn!

I got the Follies back in the 80's. Don't remember where.

Posted: 3/9/10 at 1:20pmWSStory, where did you obtain your frames? I've got about 20 or so that I need to frame and put up once I finish painting. I've been looking at hollywoodposterframes.com but dont know of any other vendors that sell frames at reasonable prices.

I don't have one singular showcard wall as my collection is hanging in different locales (or in storage)...but I did have the opportunity to display a small portion of my memorabilia collection at a Broadway-themed reception prior to the "Bravo! Broadway" show (starring Mark Kudisch, Debbie Gravitte, and Stephanie J. Block) with the Charlotte Symphony. A few of my showcards are displayed along with a bunch of vintage and/or signed playbills. Here are a few pics I took while setting things up.

Posted: 3/9/10 at 7:09pmI'm glad that when the 5th Avenue theater in Seattle did Follies in the 90's that they used the same poster (just with the names of our cast listed), and with the %th Ave logo in one of the small circles in the bottom corner. I've always loved that poster art, and I was glad I could get a fairly cheap recreation to put up on my wall.

Here is the same wall, different posters. I change them every few months or when I want a change. I use the same frames. These are my oldest in my collection. The Grass Harp and Three Wishes For Jamie I painted myself. Enjoy!

Posted: 3/9/10 at 10:09pmDoes anyone know of a way to hang a playbill on a wall without using a frame or tape. Because I tried tape on my West Side Story playbill and it has some slight tearing on the back from it not getting all the way off my wall. Thanks!

Posted: 3/9/10 at 11:15pmPersonally I have a cord around the top perimeter of my room and put the playbills in comic book bags then use the black binder clips to secure the bag to the chord. I do the same with posters in the triton gallery poster clear plastic bags.

Posted: 3/10/10 at 9:17amI frame my Playbills and have them hung going up a stairway. I have, however, run out of wall space --- about eight plays ago. Still debating on what to do with my yet-unhung Playbills.
