THIS IS A PRESS RELEASE AND AN INVITATION TO JOIN US FOR "TCHAIKOVSKY - A NEW OFF-BROADWAY STAGE PLAY" PLAYING IN NEW YORK CITY.

TCHAIKOVSKY, a new play written by Andrew Wyeth Neal, is premiering August 29th through September 1st.

TCHAIKOVSKY, is about one man's struggle to find acceptance and felicity in his life. It tells the story of a broken man, who from the time of childhood has only known heartbreak, emptiness and solitude.

He goes through life pretending to be something he is not, and finding discontent around every corner. That man, is in fact, Pyotr Ilych Tchaikovsky. The composer that we have all grown to know and love, in reality is more of a mystery than we think.

Such enigma and controversy has surrounded Tchaikovsky's life for many years. From his homosexuality, to his drinking problems, to his untimely death, which has been widely regarded as suicide by arsenic poisoning, rather than Cholera.

This play gives people a chance to see the real Tchaikovsky, to delve into his mind and see the things he saw, and feel the things he felt. To understand the man behind the music that changed classical music, forever.

The play will feature over 15 pieces of Tchaikovsky's music from his ballet, operas, orchestral and chamber works.

Tchaikovsky was a man known for his musical genius, but how was he able to compose those gorgeous melodies? How did he entrance audiences around the world with his creations?

Even in death he haunts us, moves us, and encourages us with his compositions--from the ballets Swan Lake and The Nutcracker to his opera Eugene Onegin.

This play tells the story of how some of his most cherished compositions came into existence. The story of love and heartbreak, pain and perseverance, this play wants to show you the man behind the music.

TCHAIKOVSKY'S creative team includes up and coming playwright, Andrew Wyeth Neal, up and coming director. Rob Belchere and world renowned choreographer, Nancy Whyte and a whole team of industry professionals.

The play will be premiered off-broadway at "THE AMERICAN THEATRE OF ACTORS - THE CHERNUCHIN" in New York City, at 314 West 54th street at 8th avenue from August 29th thru September 1st at 8pm with a 2 pm matinee on the 1st.
