#1Jamaican stories in NY theatre?

My client Sardia Robinson, a native of Jamaica, is performing her one-woman show (FROM A YARDIE TO A YANKEE) Off-Broadway Oct 21 about her own personal struggles growing up in Jamaica to becoming a US citizen, getting a theatre degree, and hitting Hollywood. Are there, or have their been, similar plays and stories in NYC theatre? Any suggestions for promoting such a work? Thank you.
