From Bitty: Do you ever get odd things thrown at you at curtain call? I was just wondering because I was in a performance a few weeks back and I got a cell phone thrown at my head and it hit me right about the eye. I was just wondering if that ever happens to anyone else but me....
Sutton responds: No, I've never had anything thrown at me (knock on wood). No, not yet.
OK... What is this question about? When I first read it I thought "Underwear!" but a cell phone? This brings new meaning to the theatre cell phone ban. No one would really throw something at a curtain call... (like the rotten fruit of old) ... would they? This couldn't happen... even in community theatre, right?
Secondly, how did this question get to Sutton Foster! My gawd... and why was it posted in the article! I'm sorry, but I appreciate toungue and cheek, but let's get a little serious. It reminds me of a 'RightSaidRick' post.
I agree! I read this question over ten times because I wasn't sure how to take it. I thought it was wierd that it was chosen for her to answer, of all the serious questions that were submitted.
Haha you submitted that? I thought that question was funny!! The cell phone one might have been funny...I just couldn't tell if it was a joke or not, it was such a strange question!
At least Native's question could be construed as "Are there any future projects in the works, for your talented family and friends to corroborate on?" Which gave her a chance to plug the benefit. So that's cool.
The cell phone question is just way out there. I hope it wasn't anyone from the board. I don't want to offend.
