"I have never eaten a "candied violet,"

Really? You've led a deprived life. They add that something extra special atop icing, whipped cream, or ice cream. You really must try them; your whole outlook on life may very well change. The ones from Toulouse are particularly reputed.

So quit that gym, and hie yourself to the nearest gourmet grocery. Then be prepared to know heaven on earth.

Recommended show music to accompany savoring a petit four topped with a candied violet: Sweet Day from After the Ball or I've Been Invited to a Party from The Girl Who Came to Supper.

I love listening to the overture/audition scene from 42nd street for a high-energy pick-me-up, and indeed all of the tap songs from 42nd street give me more energy for working out (overture, Go into your dance, 42nd street, and we're in the money). I also love listening to King of New York from Newsies and Some People from Gypsy for workouts.
