$1/4 BILLION in Vioxx lawsuit...

Don't you think $253 MILLION, 1/4 BILLION is just a tad excessive?!?! While drug companies should totally be held liable for their products, etc 1/4 billion dollars just seems insane to me. This woman should get x-amount and if they want to stick Merck w/ some crazy penalties/fines, they should have to do something like donating millions of dollars worth of drugs to the elderly or something. I know this is a touchy subject; who's to say you can put a price on someone's life, but STILL!

I agree, Mabel. They should absolutely be held responsible, but why should this woman receive the millions of dollars in punitive damages on top of the other millions she received for loss of companionship? Make them pay it, but to a more productive cause.

Lets all sue drug companies & doctors & than wonder why medical costs are going sky high
