until my first trip to NYC!!! I will finally see why I wanted to live there since I was 13. Unfortunately, it is with a neighboring school for an art class. I do not know anyone that is going. We are only seeing RENT.
(I am still very excited to see it, but have already seen it twice) We are staying in Jersey City. We are leaving the city at 9 PM to go back to the hotel for a pool party. HELLO! We can swim anytime...why not see another show. I wish I could enter a lotto. Like I said when I decided to go...I need the experience. I will get all of the NYC sight seeing places out of the way on this trip and then next time I can see all shows!
I cannot wait. What should I do while in Times Square?

I'd just walk around and drink it all in. Since it's your first time, that would allow you to see as much as possible that's within walking distance.
Visit the Theater Circle on 45th Street just east of 8th Ave. It's right next to the St. James Theater (The Producers) and it should meet a theater-lover's gift shop needs. And the backroom has books...lots of books about all things theater-related. Probably even lighting.

Congrats! I just got back from my first "REAL" trip to NYC...I was with a friend (practically a native) and I just soaked it all up and loved every min of it...I saw Chicago, The Producers, Wicked, Fiddler on the Roof, and Little Shop....I was totally taken aback. I have never experienced anything so visually stunning. I was kinda depressed for a couple days after I left cause I wanted to see more and do more...there was one night when I was lying awake in my bed and going..."is this what being in heaven is like?" I felt so scared but excited, I am only 5 feet tall and being engulfed by HUGE buildings and sounds and lights.. I must admit Fiddler wasnt as fab as I thought it was going to be but it was still cool to see none the less...I hope to be a little girl in the BIG city someday.
yay i hope you have fun. its less then a month until my b-day. its 24 days away.
I'm very jealous BwayTheatre11, you'll have a terrfic time! Its too bad you cant see more shows. Maybe...sneak away when no ones watching
I'm going in the fall for a week but I want to go see more than just shows (Times Square etc), so let me know how it is! Have a good time.
Do they still have that Walking Broadway tour? I think you would like something like that.
Indeed they do...

Oh, yes, BT11, you should totally do this tour.
I totally agree with what PJ said. Just take some time to walk around Times Square, check everything out, take it all in. It's a really fun place!!
