What a nice surprise to hear Christmas music playing on WLTW this morning
. Last year they played it I believe on the 15th of November, now they started today on the 18th
. I myself enjoy it listening to it, but I also know that there's also some people who think it's too early or are probably complaining. Well, if you don't like it, change the channel.
Where I am, on the oldies station, they started playing x-mas music BEFORE Halloween this year!

For some reason I remember them starting even earlier last year, like mid-October. I was actually surprised when they weren't playing it last week.
I heard Christmas music a few days after Halloween. Many Thanksgiving's when I am in the car going to my cousins house, I hear Christmas music. I love hearing the oldies Christmas songs!

The lite rock station here started their Christmas rotation this week. I wish they played more jazz and oldies Christmas music and less smooth-jazz and wuss-rock Christmas music.
RTfan: Are you in MA? I don't mind the Christmas carols/music, but they play it 24/7 and it just gets annoying. I thought they waited until the Friday after Thanksgiving, though.

They used to start the day after Thanksgiving, now its Halloween.

Long Island's WALK-FM (97.5) started playing their Christmas music this weekend. I love Christmas music, but they play the same list every year. How much can a guy take of Bruce Sprinsteen's "Santa Claus is Coming To Town", The Chipmunks' "The Chipmunk Song," and Burl Ives' "Holly Jolly Christmas"?
It's a Clear Channel station and I'm convinced that their mission is to bore everyone into mediocrity!

This shouldn't start until Thanksgiving.
Out here in SF, they switched to 24/7 Christmas music this morning. At first, since it was Burl Ives I heard, I thought...ok, cool.
By the end of the ride, with the Carpenters logs on the fire filling them with desire...I was ready to move on.
Christmas music has it's place

Sorry Stage, I don't disclose any info on where I live, if that is what you were referring to.
No one wants to know.

I don't think so Becca. Thanksgiving is only now a few days away(Thursday) to be exact. Stores already have Christmas decorations up and not to mention playing Christmas music(some not all).
Too early! Good thing I don't listen to the radio generally, because this would, undoubtedly, piss me off. I know lots of people love getting festive early, but it just seems wrong to be getting all caroled out by mid-November (or just after Halloween...sorry, but that's just obnoxious!). Besides, who wants to hear "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" when it's so mild and unfall-like (at least here in the Northeast)? I want to enjoy this non-wintery weather while it lasts, thank you very much. Don't go pushing your "Let it Snow" at me just yet!
Y'all can soak it up, but I've got about a two week limit when it comes to holiday music. Really, isn't two weeks enough? Do we need two months of Christmas festivities?!?!? Bah humbug, I say!

Considering your agenda, that's probably a good thing.

Yikes! It's a bit early for this kind of music. At least WLTW LITE-FM HD isn't all Christmas music, just a few thrown in here and there.
It's way too early! Can't they wait until at least the day after Thanksgiving? It doesn't feel like winter at all.

I decided last year that it was Burl Ives or me. If I had to listen to that awful Holly Jolly Christmas one more time, someone was going to die.
Since Burl Ives is already permanently 'on tour', that narrowed the field considerably, so I found another radio station.
They need to change up the rotation. It's like the same 30 songs all week long.
I was so excited about this I turned on the radio and it brightened my day.

As I have a one hour commute to work every day, I rely on WALK's weather and traffic reports. However, they've been on their Christmas binge since Saturday night and I'm already crazy. With all the thousands--maybe millions of Christmas recordings available, why are we subjected to the same few played ad infinitum? The recordings of the Boston Pops and LeRoy Anderson are exemplary, so why have I heard "The Chipmunk Song" five times already and Gene Autry's "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" twice--and it isn't even December!
I'm switching to an all-news station until December 26th!
