16 bars for an audition

I'm going to an audition in a few weeks that casting for both Ragtime and it's a wonderful life. I am to prepare 16 bars of an uptempo and a ballad. My range is realy broad, tho technically I'm a mezzo-soprano, and I'm really good at belting as well. Any ideas as to what I should pick? Maybe a song from the show-which by the way I'm not even that familiar with.

I'm sorry I know every posts things like this. I'm starting to think of maybe doing Somewhere from west side story.

Don't do a song from the show.
For Ragtime...."Somewhere" could work. Ragtime is a show that needs strong acting, so act the crap out of whatever you choose. :)
