I was at the game! What a night. That inside the park homer by Nixon was amazing. He flew around the bases. Not bad for a guy with a bum leg. Then Papi and his grand slam made the crowd go wild. It's as if he was saying, "So much for the infield shift!" People were chanting for him to come out of the dugout and take a bow, but he didn't. On top of that, Johnny Damon extends his streak with three hits and Wells pitches a five hitter over seven innings. The T ride home was buzzing with fans. We were all wearing our colors. Go Sox! Let's make it 3 out of 4.

Posted: 7/16/05 at 8:24amI am SOOOOO jealous, lovesclassics! Since we had company over, we had the game on w/ the volume down, and I was sitting where I'd have to turn around to see what happened. I saw Trot get that hit, and turned away for a second to listen to what someone was saying...I turn around again, and they show a shot of him catching his breath in the dugout!!! Crazy! Can you imagine if someone else had been on base?? An inside the park grand slam!?!?!?! Can't wait for this afternoon!
