2 Overused Phrases here on BWW Boards

OK, these are just two that I've noticed keep popping up. What phrases have you noticed being used......and used and used and used and used.......Here's mine:

"I just spit my (insert favorite beverage here) all over my monitor/keyboard."

and

"That's a slippery slope."

Both are great sayings, just a tad overused here.

You know what's worse than "in my opinion" though? "in my honest opinion." Are your other opinions not honest?

And this is not solely w/message boards, by the way. Just in general conversation. Not usually a necessary phrase.

"OMG, Idina is so awesomely amazing and the best actress to ever be on Broadway and OMG she is soooo lucky to have Taye and Wicked is OMG amazing and I can't wait to try out for Elphaba lol..."

niether is "it goes without saying (then says obvious thing)."
WHY was that phrase invented? if it goes without saying, WHY are you saying it? ehh. (can you tell i can't sleep? i've posted like 400 hundred times tonight. you guys are getting feinstein overkill).

TypeaTiff you crack me up!!! You are right on the money with the Wicked posts. Right now my block list is really long and most of the Wicked posts have suddenly vanished from the main thread.

Dottie tends to use the word "absolutely" a lot.

"nuff said" is used as some sort of absolute that requires no support or explanation, but in most cases, just comes across as arrogant and immature.

"shill" Who cares? What's with the witch hunt? Let 'em shill away! Shilling this board is not going to influence anyone here out of their personal opinion nor is it going to boost ticket sales to make or break any Broadway show. Screeching about it every time someone says they like a show that the majority dislike doesn't make them a shill, anyway. And once a shill is identified, what happens? Nothing, really. People still keep their own opinions about the show in question and about the member who shills.

None of this is as irritating as those who post crap just to get their rocks off on being mean or cruel. Why don't they just shack up with Bin Laden and have a REALLY great time? I ask you!
