Who would you pick to be in the cast of the Broadway version of the Surreal Life. Like previously mentioned, it would have to be washed up performers, or people who have won the Tony and disappeared or won the Tony and will never work again.

Marisa Jaret Winoker
The Original Enjolras
Who else?

Rathnait! It would be the first mass suicide ever on Reality TV.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

I renew my suggestion of Elaine Stritch and Kristin Chenoweth. They would have to share a bedroom together. I think they should do a new reality show of "The Odd Couple" with the two of them.

Kristin: Excuse me Elaine. I need to do my vocal warmups.
Elaine: Is that what that is? I thought you had popcorn stuck in your throat. And what the f**k is that thing around your neck?
Kristin: It's my diamond studded neckbrace. It kept Idina from choking me during "Wicked". She's insane ya know.
Elaine: You don't say.

I feel like Kate Levering should be on it! Giving up on 42nd St. to do Thou Shalt Not! What was she thinking? And she rocked hardcore in 42nd St! She should've stayed... I haven't heard anything she's been up to since that unfortunate incident.
She would definitely be on the Bway version of Surreal Life.

i agree with Liza, with a Z. But usually it's folks who are not working otherwise, so she'd fit...how about:

Rip Taylor
Stephen Schwartz
Seth Rudetsky
Sebastian La Cause (for the visual element)
Brooke Shields (ditto)
Lea DeLaria
Lea Salonga

imagine the amusing high jinks---Rip and Stephen's toupees getting mixed up. DeLaria talking about self-gratification inspired by PRETTY BABY, Seth coaching Salonga to belt higher like she used to at 16 years old, Liza swearing she had a "spiritual connection" with Sebastian as the drool trickled down her chin....

then on "scaraoke" night, no one singing any songs from PIPPIN, WORKING, WICKED, GODSPELL, CHILDREN OF EDEN, RAGS, or any animated films...

Will: They don't give out awards for helping people be gay... unless you count the Tonys. "I guarantee that we'll have tough times. I guarantee that at some point one or both of us will want to get out. But I also guarantee that if I don't ask you to be mine, I'll regret it for the rest of my life..."
