Looks like 3 D has finally found its niche & that is Imax
The 2 formats have had great success so far (original 3 D movies & converting standard films to 3 D) . Now @ the Lincoln Center Imax is a documentary about an african safari. The effects are supposed to be eye popping. One is a lion jumping out of the screen into your lap. Sounds like the tagline for the 1 st 3 D flick in the 50's "Bwana Devil" - A lion in your lap. Guess I will have to go in & take my hat off again to get in as a senior.
Imagine adapting more standard flicks to 3 D . I would love to see the chariot race in Ben Hur or Moses parting the Red Sea in the 10 Commandments in Imax 3 D
