In New York, when one is looking for a single day's employment, one usually stands on the designated streetcorner with daylaborers who are lacking green cards and waits to see what offers come by. It can be quite lucrative, or so I'm told.

This has never been done. Picture this, NY, 2004, in the middle of Times Square. A male, or female, in cowboy boots, cowboy hat and underwear playing a guitar. Isn't that novel?
