I've been hearing about this now for a few months. Now it seems that Japan will have 3D TVs that do not require glasses this December.
I just can't figure out what this will look like.
The only thing I can possibly imagine is something like what they are now calling "motion posters". I've linked one below for Saw 3D just to show an example.
I have no idea if this is what they're talking about though.
Anyone seen any demos of this new "glass-less" 3D?

Oh cool, I found a video of a demo. Apparently you have to sit in just the right spot for it to work.

Nintendo is also coming out with a 3D version of the DS that uses similar tech to create a 3D experience without glasses. I got a chance to see a demo of the 3DS in action and it was pretty amazing. You do have to sit in a "sweet spot" to get the desired effect though...I don't know how that will translate on bigger monitors.
