I signed up for this thing called Disney Movie Club, and if I get other people to sign up for it, I get free DVDs...if it sounds like a pyramid scheme, it pretty much is, but it's legit (I have a friend who already did it and it worked fine)...
basically, you sign up and you get 5 Disney DVDs for $30.
Then, within the next two years, you have to buy four more movies from them...then you can cancel it. (They'll periodically send you promotions, and if you don't want what they are offering, you check "no" and send it back...otherwise, they just assume you want it and charge you)
so, yeah...5 DVDs for $30.
anyone interested or want to know more, let me know! For every person I refer that joins (up to five) I get an additional free dvd

The problem with these types of clubs is that with shipping and everything the other 4 movies that you end up having to buy probably cost about $35 a piece.
The cost probably balances out in the end.

no, the other dvds run at average prices, and if you get them together you pay something like 3.95 for shipping plus $1 for each other item. What I plan on doing is buying my four all at once, paying $7 for shipping and then cancel the whole thing.
just thought I'd ask if anyone was interested.

Unless they changed they policies, they don't combine shipping like that.
I subscribed to them at one point and they seperated shipping and handling as different fees which allowed them to mark up the price of the shipment. This is in addition to shipping at a much lower rate than you are actually paying for.
I don't mean to be a buzzkill, I just was presenting the other side of these clubs.
I just think that when all is said and done it won't really be that much cheaper than getting them from an e-tailer.

"As a Disney Movie Club member, all you need to do is buy 5 movies at regular Club prices in the next 24 months (starting at $14.95 per VHS and $19.95 per DVD), plus shipping and processing of $3.95 for the first title in each order, and $1.00 for each additional title in that same order. You may cancel your membership at any time after purchasing the 5 movies."
I know it says five movies, but one of your initial five counts as one, so it's really four.

Cool. It looks like they changed their policies then.
The probably had to given the low cost of direct sites that allow you to get movies at a considerable discount much more quickly.
Excellent.

Yeah, I know some people who are "he-tailers" but that is neither here nor there.
