no, it's a war against militant islamicists who've hijacked a religion and use the name of god to convince children to blow themselves up in a nihilistic quest for a return to worldwide domination by the umma. that specific act (9/11) was committed by a group (al qaeda) that was being subsidized and protected by a state government (the taliban). at it's heart it's a war against wahhabism which translates to a war against intolerance. odd isn't it that a president accused of, and often guilty of, intolerance, is waging a war agaainst it? the current front in iraq is a chance to prove that a secular state can function in the midst of all the tyrannies and that all people can, if given the chance, prosper and drag their country with them into the 21st century. it will show that islam need not dominate the government to serve it's people, but can exist side by side with christianity, judaism, hinduism and every other -ism. if it succeeds, future generations will look back on this time in history as the moment that the world chose law and order and human rights over the decaying theocracies that would drag the world back into the middle ages.
