When will Mike Bloomberg realize that the NYC schools need EDUCATORS running them. It's not a business. It's a school system. You can manipulate the numbers all you want, but the city schools are FAILING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Klein wasn't an educator, and NYC is hardly the first major urban school district to bring in a non-educator to run the schools. I don't know if I think it's the best idea, but this is certainly not unheard of in urban education right now.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad
