Over a year ago there was a fire in the Cook County Administration building in Chicago.
Some people got trapped in a stairwell and died. That is unfortunate.
The local news media has TALKED ABOUT IT EVER SINCE!
I swear to GOD, they're talking about it right now!
I bet if you put all the coverage this fire has gotten and stacked it up, it would be thicker than the 9/11 Commison Report.
By the way, the building in question is the one at the end of The Blue Brothers (where they had to go to pay the orphanage's taxes)
Sad indeed. A former co-worker's husband of one year died, trapped in a stairwell in that fire.

That sucks.
I guess my point is how many times can the news media tell the same story over and over?

The Chicago media loves any story where the local govenrment screws up and people get blamed and lose their jobs.

very true.
The local govt. of Chicago has to be the most corrupt in the country.
It all started when Rich Daley (father of the current mayor) sold the 1960 Prsidential Election to the Kennedys.
I remember walking right by that fire as it was happening. It was so scary. The windows were falling out and shattering on the sidewalk. That was a truly sad event.

You have obviously never lived in Texas. Try growing up in the fourth largest city in the country and they still have yet to provide decent public transportation. The main concern is building huge new sports stadiums to replace the ones that already exist without removing the old ones (the new Reliant football stadium stands directly across the street from the Astrodome). Then they host the Super Bowl and bid on the Olympics while the only public transportation improvement made is one light rail line that serves no better purpose than the unreliable buses that already exist. The light rail holds up traffic and because of inadequate signage, resulted in many accidents and some fatalities. They want to increase tourism without any proper means of transporting the tourists.
And that's just one issue. The Houston city government has had its head on backwards for decades.
