I agreed with Bush's campaign promise to shorten the waiting time for citizenship. Of course, that ain't happening post 9/11. And you know what? I can live with that. But Kerry will have my undying devotion if he just gives INS employees an attitude adjustment.

yea, I'm kinda dating a foreign girl. the INS are a bunch of asses. Then again, so are most federal employees.

Here's a contrast for you: On the day I got my citizenship, my family and I got hassled by INS employees for over an hour, treated like we're dirt for wanting to be Americans. Once we were done, we went straight to another room in the federal building to register to vote. Miracle of miracles! The employee there was smiling, gave my parents their forms, and offered to help them fill them out. Craziness, I know. Heck, even my mailman is friendly. But somehow they always manage to hire xenophobes for the friggin' immigration office...
