I am not sure on which board to post this, so I hope this one is appropriate. I just received this news and am in a bit of shock.
"ICT MainStage suffered an incredible loss on Tuesday evening when during a rehearsal for NUNSENSE, Rudy Seppy fell from the catwalk onto the concrete floor of the Dupree Theater. Rudy had been an active member with ICT for 20 years and was to direct their next production - Ten Little Indians. Please keep his family and friends in your prayers."
This comes just two weeks after a local designer, stage manager and actor, TA (Tad) Dodson, died from an embolism. Tad was 29.
Both of these men were wonderful people who had a joy for theater that was unmatched. I am not sure there are words to describe these losses.
this one is such a shock, but not as much as Tad's - he was actually a (not-so close) friend of mine and it was sudden and unexpected and not right.
i guess we all just need to make sure to watch out for one another and be the community that we promote ourselves to be.
I had only recently made Tad's acquaintance; we had a few beers together after I saw BUG and did a reading together the week before he died. I was looking forward to getting to know him better.
Rudy and I were in ANOTHER MURDER: ANOTHER SHOW together at ICT Mainstage a year ago. I just learned that the catwalk actually gave way underneath him causing the fall.

DBillyP - I'm sorry for this horrible situation. It's tremendously difficult on a group when involved members are ripped suddenly away - and at so young an age
Good thoughts and peace of mind to those affected, and especially their families. How sad.
That is so sad. I am sorry for your loss. But does anyone else see the irony in the fact that the director of Ten Little Indians and one of the stars of ANOTHER MURDER: ANOTHER SHOW died a freaky, unexpected and "accidental" death?
If I may add to the irony ... I did not pay attention to the TEN LITTLE INDIANS connection, but in ANOTHER MURDER: ANOTHER SHOW, which was performed in the theater in which Rudy fell, an offstage character falls from a catwalk after being shot.
That did cross my mind this morning.
