Just yesterday (I'm on AIM for Mac) I started getting this pop-up when I sign on, that's an AIM Mail status window, with a linked e-mail address that's my screen name @aim.com. Does anyone know how I make it go away? I go into my settings, and there's a tab for it, but it just sits there loading for ages. Help!
The same thing happened to me - I figure it is an attempt to get me to install AIM mail on my computer - which I will not. Right now, I just close the box and ignore it. But, if anyone has any ideas, I would love to hear them as well.
"Buddy groups are great: The core of iChat is its Buddy List window, and with this new version the window is much improved, thanks to much better support for AIM’s buddy groups. iChat’s previous group support involved a bad pop-up/drawer interface, which has been replaced with a simple set of headers that appear above all the buddies in a particular group. Clicking on the header collapses or displays the contents of a group. Transferring buddies is a drag-and-drop operation. And finally I can organize my Buddy List, which has been bursting at the seams." organize your buddies
"Smart! And into all those exotic mystiques -- The Kama Sutra and Chinese techniques. I hear she knows more than seventy-five. Call me tomorrow if you're still alive!"
Oh, okay. It's set up differently on a Mac. I found the email tab, but it says it has to query the host computer, sits there, and then says there was a problem doing so. grrr.
