Alright guys I got a question. I really need you help/advise

I have had AOL for about 7 years now. Last month I switched to comcast. I made my AIM Screen Name the same as my AOL screen name. So for a month it overlapped and I had both. Well today the AOL was cancelled. Ad now it won't let me sign on AIM with my screen name! I tried to make it again, but it tells me that the SN is already in use. Now again, I have had the same screen name for 7 years, i have peoples screen names from middle school, high school, and now college. I CANT lose it, i just... cant! Any suggestions?

That's weird. I don't have an AOL account, but I do have AIM. I have had it for ages and on several different computers. I just use the download option for existing screennames and haven't had a problem.

Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

Well when I got AIM, it says "If you have an AOL account type your Screenname in here "___" and i did. It transferred my buddy list over from AOL.

Same thing happened to me. I'm sorry, but your name is lost. Look to see if you made a backup of your Buddy List. If you didn't, try to remember as many names as possible and move on.

You might just have to create a new one and then link the old one so you can still use it. Sorry.

I'm afraid the SN is lost for now. I am completely dreading the incident myself once dad gives up the AOL at home.

I *think* I recall hearing that after 6 months you can pick up the SN on AIM again.
But, I totally understand how horrible it is. I have had mine for 7 years, as well.
Just come up with a new one and keep checking to see if you can re-create your old one.

aol's changed it's policies. if you have aol, and you cancel it, you can't use the sn at all, including for aim. it happened to me, and it sucks.
