re: AMC Theaters Blow

Yeah, but AMC Empire 25 on 42nd st. rocks. They let you take in any food/drink you want. I hate theatres that try and restrict what you bring in.

They blow? Wow, can I order one at the concession stand?

"Theater chains often decline to play certain films, especially if they suspect the films won't do any business in their market."

I don't believe AMC caters to the art house crowd, except in NYC and LA. They've passed on other movies in the past.

That's my favorite theatre to movie hop at! I've never had a problem (well, other than the occasional sold out movie). I've got it all down to a science! At $10+ for a movie, I'll be damned if I go to only one!
But when did New Hampshire become--Such a backward wasteland of seatbelt hating crazies?...I mean, only 40 people actually live there. The others are just visitors who come for the tax-free liquor and three inches of novelty coastline. John Hodgeman on The Daily Show (1-30-07)

re: AMC Theaters Blow

They may indeed "blow" but not because they decided not to show a particular movie. Do you really expect them to show every movie offered to them?

This is just a publicity stunt to generate interest in the film. I congratulate the film makers for convincing the media to run a non-story like this. I am sure the producer of "Zombie Lovers From Mars" are kicking themselves for not thinking of it.

That's why you find some cool place (if you're in Dallas) like the Magnolia or the one at Mockingbird Station. I can't remember the name... Oh well. Anyone want to fill me in?

The largest AMC in Chicago is not showing War of the Worlds. They often don't run what is expected to be top-selling films, but they are showing at other AMC locations. It's kind of a mystery.

...who cares.

AMC on 42nd is my theatre of choice. And if they don't have the movie I want playing there, it's guaranteed to be playing across the street at Loews.
