Fox Announces New 2-disc DVD of 'Anastasia' Animated Musical

Fox Home Entertainment announces today they plan to re-release their Academy Award-nominated animated musical, 'Anastasia,' onto a 2-disc DVD.
Anastasia: The Family Fun Edition is set for release March 14, 2006. Special features are reportedly to include feature length commentary by directors Don Bluth and Gary Goldman; four-part "The Making of Anastasia" documentary, including Creating the Story, Defining Characters, Creating of Animation, and Music in the Air; Aaliyah: Journery to the Past music video and making of featurette; two sing-alongs ("Once Upon a December" and "Learn to Do It"); an interactive feature with which you can sing "Once Upon a December" in another language; a 3D Palace walk through; an Interactive Paper Doll; a Help Anya Remember her Past interactive coloring game; Anastasia Music Box Favorites; and multiple interactive games and features.

'Anastasia' features the voice talents of Meg Ryan (Anastasia), John Cusack (Dimitri), Kelsey Grammer (Vladimir), Christopher Lloyd (Rasputin), Hank Azaria (Bartok), Bernadette Peters (Sophie), Kirsten Dunst (Young Anastasia), and Angela Lansbury (Dowager Empress); with the voice talents of Liz Callaway (Anastasia), Jim Cummings (Rasputin), and Jonathan Dokuchitz (Dimitri).
The musical team of Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens received two Oscar nominations for Best Song ("Journey To The Past") and Best Score (along with David Newman).
