Adore this movie...

And Dimitri might possibly be the most attractive animated character...




That is if one were to rate animated characters, which I of course I am far too mature to do...

And besides I have a sneaking suspicion hes gay...

I love this movie! I decided to listen to my CD after reading this thread, and I just noticed Victoria Clark singing in "A Rumor in St. Petersburg." I had no idea she was on the CD.

Fox Announces New 2-disc DVD of 'Anastasia' Animated Musical

Fox Home Entertainment announces today they plan to re-release their Academy Award-nominated animated musical, 'Anastasia,' onto a 2-disc DVD.

Anastasia: The Family Fun Edition is set for release March 14, 2006. Special features are reportedly to include feature length commentary by directors Don Bluth and Gary Goldman; four-part "The Making of Anastasia" documentary, including Creating the Story, Defining Characters, Creating of Animation, and Music in the Air; Aaliyah: Journery to the Past music video and making of featurette; two sing-alongs ("Once Upon a December" and "Learn to Do It"); an interactive feature with which you can sing "Once Upon a December" in another language; a 3D Palace walk through; an Interactive Paper Doll; a Help Anya Remember her Past interactive coloring game; Anastasia Music Box Favorites; and multiple interactive games and features.

'Anastasia' features the voice talents of Meg Ryan (Anastasia), John Cusack (Dimitri), Kelsey Grammer (Vladimir), Christopher Lloyd (Rasputin), Hank Azaria (Bartok), Bernadette Peters (Sophie), Kirsten Dunst (Young Anastasia), and Angela Lansbury (Dowager Empress); with the voice talents of Liz Callaway (Anastasia), Jim Cummings (Rasputin), and Jonathan Dokuchitz (Dimitri).

The musical team of Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens received two Oscar nominations for Best Song ("Journey To The Past") and Best Score (along with David Newman).

They were nominated but they actually lost to something else? Somebody thought there was another song that year that was better than JOURNEY TO THE PAST? The Motion Picture Academy is very strange.

I love listening to the Spanish language track on the DVD to hear my girl Thalia's voice as the singing/talking voice of Anastasia.

Also, if anyone has Hercules on DVD the Spanish language track features Ricky Martin's voice as Hercules.

For those of you who don't know Thalia is a very popular Mexican singer/actress who is married to Tommy Mottola. She has an amazing singing voice.

haha, I love Victoria Clark's solo line! It's definitely amazing.

I love this movie, but I think it's too scary for a child to watch: Rapustin.

Hehe, thanks for the news! Anastasia is my favorite animated movie. Love Dmitri, and his banter with Anya is so cute. I'm listening to the soundtrack now and it's helping to put me in the holiday mood. :)

I have this movie on DVD already as well. Most of the special features sound very familiar, although since I love the movie so much I'll probably buy it again. *sigh*
