Who in the ABC version is the same "type" as Bernadette?

Neither, are anything like what the original show was like. Neither has any sort of warmth or even humour.

Strange as it was the 80's movie incorporated more things from the original comic strip. That's were Punjab(guy in turbin) and the chase up the tower come in. I don't think they were trying to duplicate the Broadway Show, but capitalize on the success of the show. I wasn't really crazy about either version even though i own a copy of both, but parts were good. I thought Aileen Quinn was a cute Annie and Alicia did a good job too. I prefer a good stage production.

WOW, i can't believe some of you guys...DISNEY?
it's absolutely horrendous - how you can even compare Bates to Burnett is beyond me. Bates' Hannigan is tired, boring, and HARDLY frightening. Hannigan is a scary, threatening, woman (though extremely humorous). Bates was none of those things - They even added a line to the movie script about how she DIDN'T hit the kids - to make it more PC. tragic. Same goes with Garber (whom I usually love) his Warbucks pales in comparison to Albert Finney's. Reinking, Curry, Peters...cmon. Cumming has a British accent, and Audra is nothing special as Grace. Just goes to show that DISNEY can ruin great material.

But I won't live alone in a house of regret.
