This is one of my favorite movies...
[as an Indian, ad-libbing during a Thanksgiving play]
Wednesday: Wait, we can not break bread with you. You have taken the land which is rightfully ours. Years from now my people will be forced to live in mobile homes on reservations. Your people will wear cardigans, and drink highballs. We will sell our bracelets by the road sides, and you will play golf, and eat hot h'ors d'ourves. My people will have pain and degradation. Your people will have stick shifts. The gods of my tribe have spoken. They said do not trust the pilgrims, especially Sarah Miller. And for all of these reasons I have decided to scalp you and burn your village to the ground.

Really? I thought it was miles better than the original (and I liked the original).
Young Girl: ...and then Mommy kissed Daddy, and the angel told the stork, and the stork flew down from heaven, and put the diamond in the cabbage patch, and the diamond turned into a baby!
Pugsley: Our parents are having a baby too.
Wednesday: They had sex.

I agree. I like "Values" more than the original. Much more tongue-in-cheek humor. They all look like they are having a blast in their roles.
Such fun quotes!

In Addams Family Values, I think Christina Ricci gives the best performance by a child actress since Jodie Foster's in Taxi Driver. That scene when she tries to smile is absolutely brilliant.
I like the movie a lot, but find Anjelica Huston to be a bit overwrought. I much preferred her in the first one.
On the other hand, Joan Cusack more than makes up for it. Her big monologue (with slides) about how misunderstood she is always makes me laugh. "Don't I love, and wish, and shop?"

Morticia: My baby is sick and my husband is dying. Oh Mama, What shall I do?
Grandma: Well, you have a black dress.
Morticia: [confronting Debbie in her house] You have gone too far. You have married Fester, you have destroyed his spirit, you have taken him from us. All that I could forgive. But Debbie... pastels?
Debbie Jellinsky: Fester... are you willing to make the ultimate sacrifice?
Uncle Fester: ...a goat?
Uncle Fester: Dementia, what a beautiful name.
Dementia: It means "insanity."
Uncle Fester: My name is Fester. It means "to rot."
Amanda Buckman: Why are you dressed like somebody died?
Wednesday: Wait.

For us drama geeks:
Wednesday: I don't want to be in the pageant.
Gary: Don't you want me to realize my vision?
Wednesday: Your work is puerile and under-dramatized. You lack any sense of structure, character, or the Aristotelian unities.

And an early Nathan Lane cameo, a sprinkling of Baranski.
I enjoy both movies very much. I DVR-ed the movie yesterday, and got much taunting from a friend.

Debbie: Well, isn't he a lady killer!
Gomez: Acquitted.
Amanda Buckman: Is that your bathing suit?
Wednesday: Is that your overbite?
Gary Granger: One of you will be the drowning victim and the one will be our lifesaver.
Amanda Buckman: I'll be the victim!
Wednesday: All your life.
Joel Glicker: Poor Debbie. She was sick.
Wednesday: She wasn't sick. She was sloppy

This is one of my favorite films. I remember talking about it over lunch when it came out in 1993 and wondering why, even though I had seen the original in theaters, I was allowing so much time to pass without seeing this one.
I do love the Brady Bunch theme song playing during their time in the Harmony Hut. How funny that just a couple of years later, The Brady Bunch would be adapted into similarly themed films (peculiar family and the people who try to take advantage of them).
