"Old age and treachery" always wins over "youth and vigor!" We have wisdom on our side!

I love this lady. She looks so happy to have lived to see the age of the internet. "From bread lines to this!"

Isn't it great, Kringas? I know MANY 'older' folks (and many who actually ARE) who LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the availability and exposure to the world. They take FULL advantage of it - and I think it's great!
You don't see THEM sitting at their computers claiming boredom! (Sorry, Shira - NOT a personal slam!)

It's funny, though, that old people love the net so much. There's a commercial for some sort of old people cell phone that makes one think the elderly are all mildly retarded.
Or do they have any old people's computer, too?
They spend more time online because it takes them longer to accomplish the same tasks.
My father-in-law (who is now 85) teaches a computer class at the senior center. He loves it and loves the fact he is helping other seniors with their computers.

I love that, Mom.
Like most things, the tool is only what you make of it - and these folks are about making the most of what they have!
Didn't we just have a discussion the other day about 'old' people who choose to LIVE their lives?
Yes, DG, that was in the "Old People Rock" thread.
I'll never forget the Christmas we were sitting around the tree, when little hunched-over, 98-year-old Grandma Ida with her coke-bottle glasses and snow-white hair truned to me and asked--in this soft, cute, trembling voice, "Now, Penny, let me ask you this. When you send attachments...." It was surreal!
For the record, I have youth, vigor AND treachery.
Miss P - Go Ida!
