From the British "The Independent"

"During his tenure as vice president, America's carbon dioxide emissions shot up far faster than at any time in modern history - by 15 per cent, compared to just 1.65 per cent during President Bush's first term."

Great link. Poor Al Gore.

Do you think he can run as Hillary's Vice?

If Tom DeLay is The Hammer, then I proclaim a new title for the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi: The Briber. Nancy Pelosi had to bribe her members with spinach to get their votes.

Before we blame Al Gore for all the problems of the world...isn't it possible that during his Admistration, global warming wasn't as known as it is now???

Makes sense to me.

His mission is to lower greenhouse gases...which is what is happening in most parts of the country.

Gore has "always" been great on the environment. He knew about it.

And what? Democrats are not guilty of CO2 emissions?

Can you tell me what the winters were like during that time?

Even if he knew about it before and didn't do anything about it....it's still his fault?

What about you? How long have you known about it....what have you done about it....should we start blaming you? Don't shoot arrows and walk away.

His more recent hypocrisy was news-worthy several weeks ago. Surprised to see goth leaping on this old stuff. In other news, Disco Duck looks to be a breakthrough novelty hit.

Wouldn't the more timely and greater hypocrisy be approving the worldwide distribution of "An Inconvenient Truth" on non-recyclable DVDs, instead of selling it digitally via the internet?

Sometimes the ends justifies the means. Mayor Bloomberg once suspended recycling in the city because recylcing vendors were shredding plastic and dumping it into landfills and still charging fees. All because they were losing money.

Guess what? The suspension forced these recyclers to reconsider their business models and make changes.

In this case it's not the medium, it's the message. Guess what? People ARE talking about it, people are buying engery efficient light bulbs. There is chatter. People know about ice caps now. In this case I'm sure the end justifies the means.

"In this case I'm sure the end justifies the means."

As long as it's a liberal and not a conservative?

How is capping carbon emissions a bad thing? For anyone? It has nothing to do with political views. We are polluting the environment and it needs to stop. Scientists are not in science to make up stories. It doesn't work that way. This is a very serious problem, whether or not the Earth is warming up, we are putting toxins into our environment. Sadly, CO2 is not the only byproduct from engery production.

Al Gore is not a liberal.

I personally never understood why issues like the environment has to turn into the same ol' us vs. them political argument. Even if you're skeptical of global warming, you'd think you'd want to keep the Earth as clean as possible anyway. The only people benefiting from ignoring the problems of pollution are those who can make even more money by doing so. Most of us aren't those people, despite the fact that we'd want to dream that one day we could be.

"It has nothing to do with political views. We are polluting the environment and it needs to stop."

There is a huge disagreement in the science community over Gore's research. Many are saying he is flat out wrong. Of course they are being ostracized using tactics that Gore learned from the Clintonistas.

The hypocrisy lies in Mr. Gore himself with his "carbon offsets". Instead of trying to reduce carbon, rich people like Gore pay to have someone else conserve so that they can go on living their lifestyle. Why doesn't Gore change his lifestyle rather than just paying to have someone else change theirs?

"Al Gore is not a liberal."
Only in the land of the cuckoo-bananas "Kos" world.

"Al Gore is not a liberal"

This is almost as good as the earlier "Dick Cheney does not lie" proclamation.

Yes, there are those who say there is no such thing as global warming. If they believe that, I have some farm land in Alaska that I'd like to sell them. So, I guess the polar caps aren't melting? It's all a lie.

Before we start mudslinging and saying things about Al Gore, let's get the facts straight first. Gothampc says that Gore should change his lifestyle.....what does that mean? Have you, personally met AG? You've been to his home....seen how he and his family conserves? How can you say something so stupid?

If you don't like Gore, that's fine....no one is asking you to. There's something else that's bothering you...you're taking this to an entire different level. You're going after him personally.

The facts are clear.........there is such a thing as global warming, the polar caps are melting, and lakes all over world are drying up. Global warming has never been this rapid in such a short amount of time. It's happening way too fast.

We all need to conserve..........that's the bottom line....period. Stop attacking Al Gore.........you're killing the messenger, and that's clearly an immature thing to do.
