Alcohol-Free Witch Hazel, skin toner & remedy

Got this recently and it's worked great.

No alcohol, doesn't sting. Rosewater is a natural calmative for skin. Witch hazel has medicinal qualities against skin problems and irritations. Aloe heals.

This is a clear liquid with a light feel like water. Does not dry the skin as it contains a little glycerin.

Comes in different fragrances and versions, including ones with alcohol. The alcohol-free is new for Thayer, a more than 150-year-old Connecticut brand, which also makes the slippery elm lozenges, etc. for singers.

The cost for the rose petal version is only $5.75 at this website, retail price $9.95. The unscented version is a few cents more. Right now there is a coupon code 1PENNY for shipping in the 48 contiguous states for 1 cent per order. Same code worked for a second order I made.

Medicinal uses:

Witch Hazel or Winterbloom is an American shrub/small tree. Its medicinal properties were learned from Native Americans. Due to its benefits it is also grown and used in Europe.

"The tincture of witch hazel has multifarious medicinal uses and is beneficial when used externally to heal inflammation of the skin, sunburn, insect bites and stings, bruises, scratches, poison ivy/oak, diaper rash, eczema...

Thayer's also makes a witch hazel after shave product, though it contains alcohol.

My grandmother used to always have a bottle of witch hazel and a bottle of calamine lotion on hand. My grandfather used to use it as aftershave lotion (I just learned from an Aunt whom I sent a bottle).
