I wanted to post this when she died a few months ago, but I couldn't find my old VHS tape of the very bad "New Faces" movie.
Ignore the nonsensical "reaction" shots of young Robert Clary--and just watch a great comedienne at an early age.

I love this bad movie, if only for a chance to see these incredible "new faces" and to hear those terrific songs.
It's also out on DVD now, and it's letterboxed, although the quality is crap. (I think this movie is Public Domain.)
Eartha Kitt is fantastic singing "C'est si bon," "Monotonous," and her big #1 hit "Santa Baby."
My favorite is "The Trial of Lizzy Borden" presented as a full-on hoedown square dance. It's so goofy, it works.
Also Carol Lawrence, Ronny Graham and Bill Mullikin.

I bought a copy of the DVD and it has only two chapters! One for "New Faces" and one for an episode of some show with Morey Amsterdam.
Though the cutting away to the backstage story is done so horribly! They cut away to it during some of the numbers, including "Monotonous"!
