bstndiva - she's referring to "The Stepford Wives" (at least the original version - does this scene exist in the remake?)...

I never saw the original movie and I don't see anything current until it comes out on DVD. I can't stand going to movie theaters. They stink of stale popcorn, the floors are sticky and the people that go are so disgusting sometimes. I prefer to sit in the comfort of my own home and watch movies.

dayum -= yet another reason not to see the remake - the original was really wonderful and very spooky. Just like my other favorite scary movie - The Haunting (original version) everything scary happens in your own mind in that film, which makes it chilling to watch...and Julie Harris as Eleanor is just amazing, as usual.

Well the stadium seating theaters with with the private booths are a heaven sent. That way you don't have to rub elbows this those groundlings. But I admit the concession selection is so limited. There is no champagne, only sparkling wines, and their caviar is of an inferior grade. So why bother?

It wouldn't be the first time ALICE has been made into an opera. The ENO did a workshop several years ago of a WIP that they hoped to bring to the mainstage, but it didnt quite work, unfortunately.
Myself, I can see it being a charming little children's opera, much like AMAHL or WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE. The Mad Teaparty would be a wonderfully deranged quartet that could take a serious spin off the sextet in LUCIA, and the final courtroom scene just really screams for G&S. It could be fun.

You girls read way too much into everything I say. I simply meant that movie theaters are not kept very clean and there are rude people who talk to one another or on their cellys. Why wouldn't I say that I prefer to stay home where I can enjoy a movie without being bothered?
I'm very sorry that you both seem to have a problem with me and seem to think I'm a pampered debutant. I won't apologize for enjoying nice things. I worked hard as a model for many years so that I could enjoy nice things. I don't look down on others and I think it's wrong of you to make it seem like I do.
