Hello all,

I have a quick question. I suffer from pretty severe seasonal allergies and although I take a prescription medication for them this time of year (I take Zyrtec), I find that the medication causes even more of a voice problem then the allergies themselves!

When I'm in full-blown allergy attack mode, I'm obviously all runny and itchy and that causes me to have a lot of extra junk in my throat and in my nose. But in the same token, the Zyrtec dries me out to the point that I am really raspy and have next to no voice at all!

Anyone else an allergy sufferer? Has anyone found a med that clears up the yucky allergy stuff without drying you out so badly?

Hope everyone is having a fabulous day Allergies causing major vocal issues

Oh, do I know how you feel. I get hit hard this time of year, and while the allergies themselves are horrible, the Allegra-D that I take renders part of my range useless. As in, it's not there. At all. There's air coming out, but no sound. Only a muffled "choke."

It's completely bizarre, especially when you're used to having that part of your voice just be there- it's also the strongest part of my range.

I've tried it all- lots of water, yoga, lozenges, neti pot. I've come to accept that until I can stop taking the full dose of the decongestant, I will not have that part of my voice.
