Mr. Ferley?
Actually, it's Eric McCormack--Will--who's married with kids. Sean Hayes--Jack--kind of goes the David Hyde Pierce route, where there's, I think, little doubt, but he doesn't discuss his personal life with the press. Not limbo, just private. He's said he doesn't want an audience thinking about who he sleeps with when seeing him on screen, he wants them to buy him as gay or straight or whatever that character is. A mutual friend (look for the blond on his arm at the GG's) is his regular date at award ceremonies.
(Note, I said "friend" not "beard"--we're not talking Spacey-level here...I think there's a distinction btw private and closeted. What do you guys think? There are still so few out actors.)

SOMMS - wouldn't you say Barney Fife as well?
And lest we forget - Gomer Pyle.

Yes, Rath definitely Barney and Gomer. Goober never dated either and then there were the spinster sisters who made the town hooch!

What about Mrs. Garret?

Nothing ambigious about Niles and Frasier. They're the only ones who don't know they're gay. That's why the show is so...STUPID.
*waits for flaming to begin*
