Last Tuesday night I had the great pleasure of seeing a preview screening of "American Dreamz" (with Mandy Moore, Hugh Grant, Dennis Quaid, etc.). It. Was. HYSTERICAL. The movie had a lot more political commentary than I would have guessed from the previews. Dennis Quaid was very funny as the president; I forget the name of the woman who played his wife, but the two were clearly a spoof of George W. and Laura Bush. Several funny "sidekick" characters appeared in the movie, the best of which was the character Omar's cousin (whose name I never caught); he was SO funny as the (somewhat) typical flamboyant gay teenager. I don't want to spoil too much of the movie, as much of my enjoyment came from all the things I was surprised by, but I would HIGHLY reccomend that everyone go see it. :)

Ooh, I'm so glad you liked it! I've been really excited about this movie for awhile; it looks incredibly funny and I can't wait to see it!

I believe Marcia Gay Harden plays the First Lady.

I'm looking forward to this as well. When does it open again? Doesn't look like it's this coming week. Next week, maybe??

But when did New Hampshire become--Such a backward wasteland of seatbelt hating crazies?...I mean, only 40 people actually live there. The others are just visitors who come for the tax-free liquor and three inches of novelty coastline. John Hodgeman on The Daily Show (1-30-07)
