Mmmmm... go back to the pre-fab phoniness you seem to be satisfied by, princess. You do seem to really enjoy seeing people do impersonations of actual performers. Damn shame you never saw the original cast of Rent or the first round of the Angel tour. Because those people were good. But really, 7th generation xerox copies of the originals are JUST AS GOOD, really! I do feel sorry for you, but as long as you're happy that's what matters. Enjoy 17 year old white girls doing Pat Boone versions of Motown chestnuts with the requisite melisma as many nights a week as you'd like on American Idol. The RENT thing, well, that's just hopeless. Ok, let me get this straight. Once a song has been sung (or once a show has opened with an original cast) it should NEVER EVER be done again by anyone who is different than the original artist. The song should be locked up and banned from future use. Is that about right, Namo?

Obviously you haven't seen RENT in a few years. Too bad, because believe it or not, the current cast has their own voice and do their own interpretations of the characters!! It's amazing, but, a show can STILL BE GOOD after its original stars leave!! Pretty cool concept, huh?

Yeah, the "get the hell out" portion might be taken to mean that you're not a big fan of questioning authority.

And no, there's nothing wrong with liking RENT and it fits very nicely into my theory of how you haven't actually experienced anything original or real first hand and that is why you can possibly enjoy something as phoney and processed as American Idol. Good, if sad, for you!
