Posted: 3/19/07 at 11:25pmOk..how did this happen? Somehow, despite my love of Gene Kelly and Gershwin's music, I've never seen this movie until tonight...and I'm thorougly enoying it. What a fabulous movie musical!

An American In Paris is a masterpiece. How can you go wrong with Gene Kelly.
Am I alone in thinking that he was *hot* back in his day. The sight of Gene Kelly in tights....wow, just, wow. So seXy.

An American In Paris is an absolute classic. It won best picture at that year's Oscars.
Brigadoon is so-so imo.

Posted: 3/20/07 at 11:09amAn American In Paris is gorgeous. Every frame is a Technicolor painting. And yes, Gene Kelly was terribly hot at the time. The number he does in his apartment, with the khaki's and the open blue shirt over the (dare I say it?) wife-beater...WHEW!

The final ballet is one of the most breathtaking creations in all of cinema. Sheer genius.
And, for a complete change of pace, there's also George Guetary's "I'll Build a Stariway to Paradise" movie-musical splendor!
