The Episcopalian church has always been my "spiritual home"... But I've always thought it was funny that the Anglican leaders are called primates. Perhaps they're living up to their title.

My uncle is an Episcopalian priest and he offered to marry me and Jarico. He fully supports gay marriage and equal rights. I'm going to send him the article to get his thoughts.

Interesting reply from my uncle:

"I just realized that I hadn't given you my thoughts. First of all, I don't think the Bible has anything to say about homosexuality. I do think it has some things to say about heterosexual people engaging in homosexual acts, particularly as part of idolatrous religious practices having nothing to do with interpersonal relationships. I do believe that people find themselves with a sexual orientation, although it's seldom a black and white situation. (Rev.) Gene Robinson was married and had children before he divorced his wife to enter a relationship with his male partner. He and his wife supposedly had an
agreement about splitting if he found himself unhappy with heterosexual life. Hardly a 'committed' relationship there. I personally admire anyone who makes a lifelong commitment to any other person. Having said that, there are knotty moral questions: does everyone have a 'right' to have a sexual relationship? What about a man who is married to a woman who becomes disabled and has to be institutionalized? Can he enter into another sexual relationship because of his loss of the first one? I've known several heterosexual couples who
couldn't legally marry for various reasons. Does that make their relationship sinful? Is 'legal' marriage the same as marriage in God's eyes? I believe that homosexual couples should have access to all the legal benefits of heterosexual couples. Should sexual relationships be confined to two people,
or could it be three or more? I confess that I don't know the answer to many of these questions, and am inclined to be as open-minded and accepting as possible. My ministry is to people without discrimination. Sexual morality for me is more about non-exploitation. God bless."
