hey all, please take a minute to check out my site
here
Hi Jon, I looked at your site and had a couple of questions.
Is this intended as a site for you to get work as a designer and you are just using these images to give an example of your eye and technique? Or is it your intention to SELL your work? I understand that the portfolio is just an example of your work, but if you plan on selling any of that you may come up against major copyright issues.
What exactly did you do to the action figures? Did you take existing figures and repaint them? Or did you make these all yourself? I was not too sure what the purpose of that section was.
I am not criticizing, I was just wondering if you could clarify some of the elements.
Thanks.
well the site's main purpose is to showcase my portfolio (which will hopefully get me some work), and the work of of the subdivisions (the livewire section will contain my theater groups upcoming projects soon). The only items actually for sale will be under the "Ghoultoons" section which isn't up yet.
as for the custom figures section, that is my hobby, actually theres quite a few folks who do it and also have websites. But basically its a process of repainting existing action figure parts, cobbling them together, and sculpting where necessary to create characters that are not actually manufactured.

I realize you are a design student, and think it's great that you have spec work online so potential employers can get an idea of what you're about.
However, you need to take down that blog right away! A personal blog on a "professional" site is a bad idea.
You should also have someone proof it and look it over really carefully.
Good luck to you.
thanks for the tip, i will definately remove the blog, or at bare minimum the site's link to it
