Hey guys, okay, so i'm very interested in Webster's Musical Theatre program. They're putting out top notch students and they provide an intesive program. Here's my question, while enrolled in their conservatory program, do you still take university academics? My parents do not want me to go to a conservatory but my favorite schools are Webster, BoCo, and CCM. Does webster give you the best of both worlds like i'm assuming or no?
Hey Jeff, coulda just called me hahah I was really interested in webster as well but theres a reason why im going to BoCo...haha
just call or message me love!
A friend of mine is going there next year for violin and dance and she said that she still has to take some general education classes.
I'm doing a show with someone who's going to Webster... she seems to be very happy there.

Hey,
I applied to Webster from Interlochen Arts Academy, a very intensive performing arts high school (as did a number of other IAA students) because I had a theatre teacher who went there, loved it, and then went off to get his MFA at Harvard. I was accepted and then started to investigate. You DO take university courses, so tell your parents that it's all okay. It's certainly nothing like getting a BA (it is a BFA after all), but you do take a fair number of Gen. Ed. courses, and theatre history and such. It's a really strong program, and the guy who runs it is very, very cool. I decided not to go, but I would suggest looking deeper into it. If you have any more questions, just ask!
Okay if you are in the Conservatory program at Webster you are only required to take 4 out of the 9 gen edu. courses the University offers. Which you can pick and choose which ones you want to take. So you don't have to take math, english, or anything like that if you don't want to. I'll be a freshmen (in the MT program) there this fall and I will not be taking my 4 until my Junior and Senior year (I'm going to take 2 my junior year and 2 my senior). The reason you dont' have to take as many is because your schedule is FILLED with so man music, dance, and conservatory classes that you don't have the time.
