Here's a message posted on the gmail.com site on April 1st. Wonder why.
Read on.
A New Service - Gmail Paper
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

How bizarre! A very funny 4/1 prank, but also so odd. Did you read the next part (I "clicked to learn more.") Here's a sample:
"But what about the environment?
Not a problem. Gmail Paper is made out of 96% post-consumer organic soybean sputum, and thus, actually helps the environment. For every Gmail Paper we produce, the environment gets incrementally healthier."
Ha!
