Anthony Rapp yesterday!!

Hey guys!

I just wanted to post ahout my experience with Anthony Rapp yesterday.. (he came to my college and taught a master class to the student run theatre groups and then gave a lecture at night).

He was such a nice guy! In the master class, we didnt have time for everyone to perform their monologues as was originally planned, but so it was mainly a Q&A about theatre, auditions, techniques and stuff like that. He gave some excellent advice.. Ive never taken any acting classes so a lot of the stuff he said was new to me. He was just a really insightful, excited and helpful guy.

And then at night was the lecture. It was from 9-11, but people started lining up to get in at around four. (I automatically get in because my theatre group got a certain amount of reserved seats in the front). He was really funny and sarcastic. I don't know what I was expecting but I think I was expecting him to be quieter or more reserved or something. He talked about how he got to where he was, about being gay in the early nineties and now, and about Rent. He read a little from his book about Jonathan Larson. It was a lot of stuff that was on the rent documentary but he told some personal stories which were really interesting. He did a Q&A and then sang seasons of love acapella by himself with his eyes closed. adorable.

overall, yesterday was a really rewarding experience.

he did the same thing at my high school, because he went here... but he also worked with us on seasons of love...freakin amazing...he's such an awesome guy, i can't wait for him to come back next year.

AH! I used to live 5 minutes away from U of D. In Landenberg, PA. If only we hadn't moved to Vegas?
