So, i've been having issues with my McAfee AV software, ever since i upgraded to Windows XP Service Pack 2 back in early February... my AV disables itself after a few minutes, and will not enable again...i have been in touch with the AV tech support, who had to escalate it to a higher group... this higher group began helping me but then stopped responding to me altogether, despite repeated messages as to the status of my problem... McAfee online forums are of no help either... Should i give up on McAfee and go with a different AV? if so, which would you suggest?

If you do get something else, I'd recommend Norton Antivirus. I have it on my laptop, and my two desktops at home, and I love it.

I use one at home and one at school, and I've found them to be pretty much interchangable.

Then I'd say it's SP2's fault. Evil thing. :P If you're willing to pay, Microsoft does have really good customer service, though.

Have you tried going to the security center and checking your settings? Your anti-virus software might need a firewall exception or something.
