That's better! You forgot to mention how sexy I sounded.
I have a random pop slide somewhere in there that get's on my nerves, but I'm to lazy to rerecord the whole thing.
Soapy Sings "I Only Have Eyes For You"
I recorded this really fast, and this was like, my 5th attempt at it in a row, so my voice was a bit tired, but it's pretty decent, despite my many off-key moments and my odd screechy NEV-er. *fwee*
If you haven't already heard the song, it's "What It Means To Be A Friend" from Jason Robert Brown's new musical 13. I suggest you go read his blog for more info.
OH and I downloaded this progrm that temporarily erases the centered vocals from songs, and that's how I got a karaoke track for this song.
Please critique!

Gah. My YouTube video of me singing "Suddenly Seymour" at the talent show got some nasty comments... but not about me. They completely bashed the girl who sang Audrey.
Some people are just damn mean.
dang!!! everyone has such great voices! everyone sounds AWESOME
bwaychae, you sound really good. And I really like that song, I'm going to seach JRB's 13 beacuse I know nothing about it.
Wow. And I thought I'd get "Never sing again" comments. Thanks, you guys!
Soap - 13 sounds AWESOME. It's about 13-year-olds and their strugles with adolescence, or something similar to that effect. I really want to see it! I just wish I didn't live in the middle of the Appalachian mountains. I really want to see it. If they do an open call for it on the east coast, I'm going to probably force my mother to take me to audition, because I just want the experience at the most.
And volley, I watched your SS vid, and I enjoyed it. Then again, I've only heard the movie version of the songs because I'm too poor to have the cast recording(s) of LSOH.
soapguy: you sound AMAZING! great job!
Soap - Wow. You have amazing voice.
Aww. Thank you. Izzy and Chae!
lol. cute marlene. :)
You sound great guys and gals. I am off tomorrow and going to record some stuff, so be on the look out. Does anyone have a "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" karaoke track they can send me?
hahaha. Thanks, Marlene. I have about 10 songs that I downloaded karaoke tracks for that I am going to try tomorrow.
I'm considering posting something...
Maybe "If I Didn't Believe in You" or "Something's Coming", since both are kinda my signature songs...
We'll see...

So if I record myself singing on my video camera...how do I upload it to youtube?
or...what are other ways I can record myself for other people to hear?
DOXY, if you're taking request, I'd like to hear "If I Didn't Believe in You".
oh, what the heck. I found two old clips of mine on Dare2sing.
One is a pop/rock song written by a friend, the second one is a demo song I recorded for a musical version of Practical Magic.
***Edited to fix link. oops!****

D-A-M-N Bway. That absolutely amazing. **throws panties and faints**
Hah. Thanks, Spidey. I appreciate it. I'm usually pretty...uh...unwilling to post here. But I'll karaoke any damn day.
What is that first song from? That is my favorite out of the two. When you belt those high notes **swoon**. I hope you will get over your unwillingness and post more because you are great.
I am going to try a couple of songs in just a little while. I have to run an errand and then a-recording I shall go.
SpiderDj, the first one, if it's the one I'm thinking, is "Stay the Night." My friend wrote that.
I was sitting in his apartment one day and he just asked if I wanted to record it, so we just sang it down in one take. I'm not tooting my horn on that or this either, but I was literally just getting over one heckuva bad cold and fever. Strangely, though, I've always found my voice to be in really good working order right after a sickness like that.
Now that I have a new computer and recording equipment, I might try to make some more stuff on my own.
what recording software did/do you use?
At my home, I use Audacity, which is a free program but is pretty nice. I have a crap microphone, though.
My friend (Stay the Night) used some version of Pro Tools and a really nice mic. The version of the song I have isn't mixed, though, which is why I'm kind of echoish.
The 2nd song (I Won't Let You Go) was recorded at the home of a Broadway actress whose husband does recording on the side.
I have no clue what he used but his mic was also really hot.
