Posted: 11/15/06 at 5:48pmI sometimes think I am the only person on earth who adored this movie. You just don't see this kind of thing anymore--a piece of classical narrative moviemaking that leaves you emotionally wrung out afterwards. I believe it would have become a beloved classic on a par with GONE WITH THE WIND a few decades ago, but it just didn't seem to catch on, or to lure the coveted demographic of twentysomething men who want their cheap bathroom jokes.
I ask in all honesty/What would life be?/Without a song and a dance, what are we?/So I say "Thank you for the music/For giving it to me."

I love this movie, and I loved the ties to The Odyssey.

Posted: 11/15/06 at 8:58pmLoved the movie as well as the book. A great cast and a great story all around. The film would have probably been received better by audiences and the academy if it wasn't released around the same time as a little movie called Lord of The Rings: The Return of the King.
