(I did do a search first, but the only thread was on iPods, which I can't afford.)
In the interest of not lugging tons of CDs (mostly Broadway) to work in my backpack, I've been looking into buying an mp3 player. Done some online research, but I'm wondering if anyone has or knows anything about these brands:
iRiver
MuVo
Rio
Sandisk
Thanks in advance for your feedback!
I am thrilled and love my Dell DJ -- amazing capacity and great battery life...I know it's not one you listed, but it's a great little machine
I recently flew:
NYC to LA
LA to Houston
Houston to St. Louis
STL to NYC (OK -- the battery went out abour 30 minutes before landing) -- over 14 hours on single charge -- AMAZING!
God I'd love to travel like that.
you can do it anytime fo me CK -- that was in the span of 4 days...
I have a 5 gb Rio Carbon. It's adorable and the battery lasts about 15 hours. It's not a 20 or 40 gb, but it hold about 75 albums, which is plenty. And it's so cute!

Actually, I also had a Dell DJ before someone stole it. Absolutely loved it. There's a little problem with it I believe they finally fixed that was having trouble uploading albums in song order rather than alphabetized but I think they fixed it.
Now I'm just waiting for my sugar daddy to buy me a new car and a DJ...

I LOVE my iRiver. I worship it. It is absolutely wonderful. It not only holds a ridiculous number of songs, but pictures and text documents as well. Plus it's in color and it has a recorder. Go with the iRiver.
Yeah, go the Iriver. Has so many outlet's, plus radio and other groovy features.
It aint cheap though.
The iRiver I'm looking at is the 795, because I want to stay around the $150 mark. Which one do you folks have?
my sister has an iRiver that she bought off of ebay for not too much money..
I don't know about the others, but I LOVE my Scandisk! it's so very cute and easy to use. Mine only holds about 60 songs, and lasts for a good 12 or so hours.

I have the Dell Pocket DJ. I love it. The battery life is decent (could be better, but its better than the iPod Mini), and it holds enough songs for me. One thing I don't like is the alphabetized songs, but thats fixed by changing the song titles to "01 Overture" or whatever. I highly suggest it.
