I know if I have a daughter, I'm going to make sure she's in the "Department of Marriage and Motherhood." Make sure she takes a course called "Understanding Your Husband."

I don't know. I know that me and you can graduate with honours. Check this out:

"Students who receive bachelor degrees and who maintain a high academic average at Hyles-Anderson College will graduate with honors as follows:
Cum Laude . . . . . . . . . . . . .an academic average of at least 2.25
Magna Cum Laude . . . . . . .an academic average of at least 2.50
Summa Cum Laude . . . . . . .an academic average of at least 2.7"

Dang, I can smoke up and get wasted everynight and still graduate with a Cum Laude. Who's going with me?

THIS IS UNFREAKINGBELIEVABLE

It is funny on one level but as a woman I have to tell you this is pretty darn scary to me. I knew we were headed back to the dark ages, I just didn't think we had formalized our educational process to support the trip.

And hey...how nice of them to keep those grade point averages low enough that even the dimmest bulb in the box can graduate with honors. Needless to say they won't be attracting the best and brightest college students America has to offer, so I guess they have to keep their aspirations low!

This course of study is to train ladies to be wives and mothers.

I have to pay for this? I can find people around who'd volunteer these lessons for free.

Although 'Sewing Ladies' Clothes' (Junior year, 2nd semester) might be cool. Or 'Decorating for Special Events'. I really do need help in those areas.

I would go with you, but I kind of like to dance and go to see "Hollywood movies"....oh, and I like to wear pants to class.

I think I can speak on behalf of most Baptists and say, don't judge the denomination by these people because they are...well, crazy.

ETA: I take it back! I will give up my movies for the chance to take "How to rear children."

Hehe, I'm nothing if not thorough sometimes.
Just to clear up the 2.0 cum laude issues here...they have a 3.0 grade point system. Don't know how that translates in terms of A-F, but there you are.
I, for one, like the way all the women's degrees are to prepare them to support their husbands.

Oh, DG, it is.
And I'm especially ecstatic over the fact that there's a 2 credit class called "The Fundamental Man."
Also 2 credit hours for taking "The Christian Ladies' Attitude and Appearance."
Awesome!
